How to Measure for Salwar Kameez & Suits
Whether you are ordering a straight-cut suit, Anarkali, Patiala, or Palazzo set, follow this comprehensive measurement guide to guarantee your outfit fits like a dream.
Part 1: Kameez (Top) Measurements
1. Bust Circumference
Wrap the tape horizontally around the fullest part of your chest over your bra. Tape should remain parallel to the floor.
2. Natural Waist
Measure around the narrowest part of your torso, typically an inch above your navel. Don't suck in your stomach.
3. Hip Circumference
Measure around the widest part of your hips and buttocks (typically 7–9 inches below your waistline).
4. Kameez Length
From highest shoulder point straight down to desired hemline: Knee-length (38-42"), Calf-length (44-48"), or Floor-length Anarkali (52-56").
5. Shoulder Width
Measure across the back from the edge of one shoulder bone across the neck base to the opposite shoulder bone.
6. Sleeve Length & Bicep
From shoulder point down along the arm to desired cuff length (Sleeveless, 3/4th, or Full) and measure circumference around the upper arm.
Part 2: Bottom Measurements (Salwar / Churidar / Palazzo)
1. Waist Tie Point
Measure around the waistline where you tie your salwar drawstring or fasten your trouser waistband (usually navel level).
2. Bottom Outseam Length
From the waist tie point straight down along the side of the leg to the ankle bone. For churidars, we automatically add 6–8" for gathered pleats (churis).
3. Thigh & Knee Round
Circumference around the fullest part of thigh and around knee. Essential for slim-fit pants and churidars.
4. Calf Circumference
Measure around the widest part of your calf muscle to ensure the lower leg fits comfortably without tightness.
5. Ankle Opening (Mori)
The bottom hem opening: Churidar (10-11"), Straight Pants (12-14"), Flared Palazzo / Sharara (18-24"+).
6. Inseam Length
From the inside crotch seam down the inner leg to the bottom ankle hem.
